JDF officer charged with sexually assaulting teen, released on bond

The Jamaica Defence Force warrant officer who was charged last week with sexually assaulting a 16 year old girl at his house in Portmore, St. Catherine, has been released on bond.
Winston Lewis, 54, was offered bail in the sum of $600,000 when he appeared before the Gun Court on charges of illegal possession of a firearm, attempted rape and grievous sexual assault.
He is to return to court in October.
The solider was charged by detectives attached to the Greater Portmore police station following allegations that he sexually assaulted the teenager at gunpoint at his home.
Mr. Lewis has denied the allegations.
