JLP calls for Phillip Paulwell to resign as Energy spokesman

The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) has called for the immediate resignation of PNP Vice President Phillip Paulwell as the Opposition Spokesman on Energy.

In a statement a short while ago, JLP General Secretary Dr. Horace Chang said it is noteworthy that, concerning issues raised in the energy sector under the current JLP administration, there has been accountability via resignations at the Ministerial, Board and Management level.

In contrast, the statement said, there has been no such accountability in respect of the Opposition PNP's spokesperson on Energy, who served as minister for three of the five-year span reviewed in the Auditor General's probe.

In light of this, the Jamaica Labour Party has called for Phillip Paulwell to resign as Opposition Spokesman on Energy, or to be fired by Opposition Leader Peter Phillips.

In addition to resigning as a spokesman, Dr. Chang wants Mr. Paulwell to recuse himself from deliberations of  Parliamentary oversight bodies which are likely to review the Auditor General's report.
