Alfred McDonald, Senior Director of Commercial Planning & Development, Airports Authority of Jamaica

The positions of 300 employees of Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) will be made redundant today (Wednesday).

This will precede Thursday’s takeover of the airport's operations by Mexican firm PAC Kingston Airport Limited.

In an interview with RJR News on Tuesday night, Alfred McDonald, Senior Director of Commercial Planning and Development at the Airports Authority of Jamaica, said some of the displaced workers will be offered jobs with the new operators of the airport.

PAC Kingston Airport Limited is a subsidiary of Mexican firm Grupo Aeroportuario del PacÌfico.
