JPS to fully implement pre-paid metering system next month

The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) says it is ready for full implementation of its prepaid metering system next month.
Kelly Tomblin, President and CEO of  JPS, has confirmed that prepaid meters were installed in Portmore last month.
She said customer testimonials in Portmore demonstrated that electricity bills were reduced by up to 20 per cent with the use of  prepaid metering.
With the prepaid metering system, customers can purchase a set amount of  electricity, rather than paying for the service after use.
