JPS trying to resolve massive outages

Teams from the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) are working to restore electricity to thousands of customers across the island after heavy winds associated with a cold front wreaked havoc on its supply systems on Monday. Thirty thousand customers were affected.  
The JPS says its teams worked up to midnight to restore supply and will resume this effort at 7.00 a.m., Tuesday.
Winsome Callum, JPS Director of Corporate Communication, explained how the utility company was affeccted. She noted that there were outages in every parish.
In the meantime, the JPS says members of the public may experience delays getting through to its Customer Care Centre due to the high volume of calls.
