JTA ready to work with anyone given Education portfolio

Dr. Garth Anderson

Jamaica Teachers' Association (JTA) President Dr. Garth Anderson has said the organisation is prepared to work with whomever is given responsibility for the Education portfolio.

Dr. Anderson added that the individual does not necessarily have to be an educator "but certainly somebody who understands the education system and can give the kind of policy direction so that the system can continue to improve."

Dr. Anderson made the comments following news on Wednesday that Ruel Reid was sacked as Education Minister.

The Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Division (C-TOC) and the Financial Investigation Division (FID) are probing allegations of impropriety at the Ministry.
