Kingston East operation so far a success, say police

Superintendent Victor Hamilton, head of the Kingston East Police, has said the security forces' operations underway in the division have so far been successful, resulting in the seizure of guns and ammunition.
Persons have also been detained for questioning.
Speaking with RJR News Thursday morning, Superintendent Hamilton said the response from residents to the presence of the police and army has also been positive. 
"There is a sense of relief that, yes, we are going to have a good season. I am absolutely sure that we have been able to displace some criminals out of the, so far so good. As we speak some operatives are conducting an operation and it has been successful so far," he revealed.  
Kingston East has been included in a list of police divisions islandwide where special operations are in progress to clampdown on crime and murders.
