The Ministry of Labour has launched an investigation into the incident in which an employee of Kingston Wharves was seriously injured in an accident at the dock on Monday.
The Occupational Health and Safety Unit is leading the probe.
The worker was injured after heavy equipment fell on him. He has been admitted to hospital.
Mark Williams, Chief Operating Officer at Kingston Wharves, told RJR News that the incident occurred shortly after five o’clock in the afternoon.
Mr. Williams said the employee was injured during routine terminal operations, but declined to go into details about the incident.
