Voters in the UK have been forced to wait for more than half an hour in the cold and rain to cast their ballots in Thursday's general election due to lengthy queues outside polling stations.
Long lines in various parts of the country and burst water mains in south east London led to people being forced to abandon their attempt to reach the ballot box with the hope of returning before polling closes.
In a sign that the winter election had not put off the electorate from turning out to vote, queues of people were reported in various parts of England, particularly in London and Manchester.
This is the UK's third general election in less than five years.
