Lottery scam cases reportedly being stalled due to lack of workers at Cyber Forensic Crimes Unit

A shortage of workers at the Cyber Forensic Crimes Unit due to a high turn-over rate is being blamed for lottery scam cases stalling in the St. Elizabeth Parish Court.

The court was told on Monday that the cases involving Jason Sinclair, Noel Turner, and Shamara Willaims are yet to be assigned even though they have been before the court since October 2017.

There was no representative of the Cyber Forensic Crimes Unit to state when a report on items taken from the individuals will be ready.

This prompted the senior parish judge for St. Elizabeth, Ann-Marie Lawrence Granger, to transfer the cases to the next sitting of the St. Elizabeth Circuit Court in March.
