The House of Representatives has approved a bill to merge the HEART/NTA with other entities.
The Human Employment and Resource Training (Amendment) Act was passed with 23 amendments on Tuesday.
The legislation makes the necessary legal provision for the merger of the functions of the HEART Trust/NTA with the National Youth Service, the Apprenticeship Board and the Jamaican Foundation for Lifelong Learning.
The legislation will also streamline training processes and provide for transitional measures for the merger.
The Bill will be sent to the Senate for approval.
