Delroy Chuck and House Speaker Pearnel Charles
The House of Representatives on Tuesday afternoon fell into disarray during the debate on amendments to the Building Act 2017.
The Bill is seeking to provide a modern legislative framework for the building industry, including licencing of practitioners.
Disagreement on both sides of the House led to the recommendation for a suspension of the debate on the matter.
"Mr. Chairman, with the greatest of respect, I don't believe you need to consult anyone else. If you take the advice of the Parliament that is the sentiment prevailing at the moment, please I ask that you suspend the sitting for another date," urged Delroy Chuck.
House Speaker Pearnel Charles then moved to suspend the debate.
