St. Elizabeth is the latest parish to report a decline in major crimes.

Addressing the monthly meeting of the St. Elizabeth Municipal Corporation on Thursday, Superintendent Samuel Morgan, head of the St. Elizabeth Police, said there has been a 33 per cent reduction in major crimes since the start of the year.

However, he said the parish recorded one more case of break-in so far this year compared to the same period last year.

The parish has also recorded four more cases of murder than the same time last year.

He said the majority of murders are domestic related.

Superintendent Morgan noted that there is a 45 per cent clear-up rate in murders committed in the parish so far this year.
