Man accused of killing family of six admits he took police to spot where one child was buried

St. Thomas businessman Michael McLean on Thursday afternoon admitted that he took the police to the location where one of the four children killed in St. Thomas 12 years ago was buried.

McLean is on trial for murdering the four children and their mothers on February 25, 2006.

Under cross examination from Director of Public Prosecutions Paula Llewellyn, McLean said he took the cops to Rosemont, St. Mary where Jhaid McCool was buried.

He claimed she was killed by gunmen.

McLean denied murdering the family, insisting that they were killed by drug traffickers in a dispute over guns and narcotics.

During intense cross examination, Ms Llewellyn described McLean as a "cold" and "outrageous liar".

She suggested to McLean that he stabbed and slashed the throats of  the victims in a killing spree.

McLean who told the jury that he and the victims were abducted by the drug traffickers, was unable to say why he was spared while the children and their mothers were killed.

Terry Ann Mohammed, Patrice McCool and their children - eight year old Jessie O'Gilvie, nine year old Sean Chin, Lloyd McCool and Jhaid McCool - were killed in the incident.

He told the DPP that he declined to call the police after he was released by the men because he was scared and traumatised.

McLean admitted that he had sexual intercourse with his ex-girlfriend hours later, despite being traumatised.

The trial continues on Friday.
