Demar Scott, who is accused of raping two American tourists at the Riu Reggae Hotel in St. James last month, was ordered remanded on Wednesday when his case was mentioned in the St. James Parish Court.
He is to return to court on October 22.
Mr. Scott is charged with two counts of rape, two counts of grievous sexual assault, two counts of assault with intent to rob and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
It is alleged that he raped the two tourists at gunpoint two weeks ago.
Mr. Scott, who was employed to the hotel as an entertainment coordinator, has reportedly given a statement to the police denying he raped the women.
