The police have arrested a 58 year old man who allegedly killed a woman in front of her co-workers in Ocho Rios, St. Ann Wednesday morning.
She has been identified as 22 year old Kyria Nelson, a cashier of Pimento Walk in Ocho Rios.
Shortly after 8:00 a.m., Miss Nelson, who was employed to a loan agency, was at work when the man entered the office. He reportedly used a knife to slash her throat and stab her several times.
Police personnel patrolling the plaza responded to the screams of the woman's co-workers and arrested the man.
Superintendent Wayne Cameron, head of the St. Ann Police, said based on information gathered by the police, Ms Nelson was killed because she wanted to break off her relationship with the man who is a vendor.
He said investigators have collected statements from eyewitnesses and the man will be charged.
