A man has been charged in connection with the seizure of a firearm and ammunition in Spot Valley, St. James Tuesday night.
Trevor Thorpe, 21, who is from the community, has been charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Mr. Thorpe was held about 9:00 p.m. during a police/military operation. He was accosted after his actions aroused suspicion.
On the approach of the police, he allegedly pulled the firearm from his waistband and dropped it on the ground.
The Sig Sauer pistol was retrieved and found to contain three 9mm cartridges.
