Ramsey Fraser, the man who was charged with child neglect after his 7 year old daughter fell ill and died at a church in Island Farm, Old Harbour St. Catherine, is now facing a charge of manslaughter.
Seven-year-old Ayesha Fraser died on June 6, three days after she reportedly complained to her father of feeling ill.
Instead of taking her to a doctor, Fraser allegedly left Ayesha in the care of her sixteen-year-old sister.
“The child became because six on that day about 2pm and the 16 year old took the child to a church instead of a doctor. In the church – the child died from the high fever she had since the Friday. A post mortem later revealed t hat the child died from a sickle cell condition,” Sergeant Junior Miller of the Old Harbour Police Station.
Fraser is to return to court on September 23.
