Man shot at entrance to KPH

The West Kingston police are probing the shooting of a man at the main gate of the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) on Wednesday afternoon.
    
It's reported that, shortly after one o'clock, the man was sitting at the entrance to the hospital when another man approached him and opened fire. He was hit four times in the chest and head.

The injured man was rushed into surgery.
     
The shooting caused panic among persons working and visiting the KPH. A suspect is in custody in connection with the incident.

Investigators told RJR News that the victim was one of  four men charged in 2010 with the fire bombing of  the Hannah Town Police Station, during the West Kingston incursion.
     
He has been awaiting trial on charges of  arson, malicious destruction of property and illegal possession of  a firearm and ammunition.
