A man was fatally shot during an alleged confrontation with the police on Ellesmere Road in St. Andrew on Monday night.
He has been identified only by his alias Tee Taa.
A second gunman was taken into custody.
The police say two loaded firearms were recovered during the incident which occurred about 9:40 p.m.
The matter has been reported to the Inspectorate of Constabulary and INDECOM.
