Man shown in video pointing gun at motorists arrested

A man who can be seen in a video pointing a firearm at oncoming traffic along West King’s House Road on Sunday has been arrested by the police.

He’s been identified as 29 year old Zachary Reid.

Mr. Reid who appears to be intoxicated in the video which is being circulated on social media has been slapped with several charges. These include resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer, using indecent language and disorderly conduct.

He is also been charged with failing to hand over a firearm and ammunition when requested to do so by a police officer.

In the video, Mr. Reid is seen dancing in the middle of the road, while wielding the gun at oncoming traffic.

He stops in front of approaching vehicles, aiming the gun at motorists, who seem bewildered by what is happening.

Screams of disbelief can also be heard from several onlookers.

The incident takes place on West King’s House Road in St. Andrew in the midst of a carnival after party.

Reports are that Mr. Reid was eventually disarmed by the police and taken into custody.

He was also treated at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) for injuries he allegedly received after getting into a tussle with police officers.

He is currently being held at the Half Way Tree police lock up.

Tom Tavares Finson, the attorney at law representing Mr. Reid, told RJR News that his client is now awaiting a court date.
