McKenzie trying to procure new unit for Frankfield Fire Station

Minister Desmond McKenzie

Local Government Minister Desmond McKenzie says he is in talks to supply the Frankfield Fire Station in Clarendon with a new response unit.

Speaking at Wednesday's Town Hall meeting in Clarendon, Mr. McKenzie stated that funds will also be allocated to repair the station and purchase boats to be used during floods.

"We are providing through ODPEM to the Fire Brigade over $30 million to buy boats, so that the fire fighters as first respondents will be able...to respond in a timely fashion if the needs arise," Mr. McKenzie said.

Clarendon was affected by heavy rains which resulted in extensive flooding earlier this year.
