It provided the update at Thursday's National Security Council meeting.
The news release from the Office of the Prime Minister said MOCA has signalled that it is intensifying efforts to deal with an increase in cybercrimes.
The news release said the ongoing civil unrest in Haiti was also part of Thursday's discussion.
It said Jamaica is prepared to handle any threat to its national security if the need arises.
The release said advances made in several key pieces of legislation critical to the fight against crime, including the Bail Act and the Firearms Act, were also discussed.
