More than $40 million being paid to residents affected by dust from JISCO/Alpart plant

More than $40 million in compensation is expected to be paid on Friday to residents affected by the dust nuisance from the JISCO/Alpart bauxite plant in St. Elizabeth.
 
Daryl Vaz, Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, made the announcement Thursday following a meeting with the management of JISCO/Alpart.
 
The payout, which he said is for the dust nuisance in December and January, should be completed by the end of this month.
