Dr. Horace Chang
National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang has said more than 80 police stations will be refurbished by the end of this year.
This is part of plans to improve working conditions for police personnel.
Dr. Chang on Wednesday morning signed a contract valued at $195 million for work to be carried out on 14 stations.
He said police stations in several parishes including St. Mary, St. Andrew, Kingston, Trelawny, and others will benefit from the project.
Dr. Chang also announced the construction of police divisional headquarters in three parishes.
They will be built in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, Savanna-la-mar, Westmoreland and Port Maria, St. Mary.
