Most schools spared of damage in flood rains - Education Ministry

As the tally of rain associated damage continues, the Education Ministry has indicated that so far, most schools seem to have been spared any major infrastructural impact.
Education Minister Senator Ruel Reid said the only report of a school that was heavily flooded was Port Maria Primary in St. Mary.
However, he said there may still be a challenge for students and administrators as roads leading to or near some schools have been damaged or destroyed.
The Education Minister said so far, the reports have only identified five students from the Buff Bay Valley area in Portland who could not get to a centre and missed their CSEC examinations.
He said the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) is to make a decision on how to deal with their grades.
