The latest crime data show that the number of murders in Jamaica since the start of the year is now close to fourteen hundred, with 1392 people killed during the period January 1 to November 12.
This is 282 more, or a 26 per cent increase over the corresponding period last year.
This means that there is an average four murders daily in Jamaica.
There have been more than 50 killings so far in November.
During the period under review - January 1 to November - St James recorded 273 murders, followed by Clarendon with 148, St Andrew South, 143, Westmoreland, 128 and St Catherine North 116.
