NAJ supports Health Ministry's decision not to release details of audit

The Ministry of  Health is getting more support for its decision not to release the full audit report on hospitals and health facilities.

On Wednesday, the Ministry said it would not make the details public as it could prejudice health facilities.

The Nurses Association of  Jamaica (NAJ) on Thursday joined the Jamaica Medical Doctors Association in stating that the details were unwarranted because of  the possible stigma that may be attached to hospitals singled out in the audit.

Nurses Association President, Janet Coore-Farr says the naming the hospitals would pose other challenges to the public health care system.

Meanwhile, the oppositionsSpokesperson on Health, Senator Marlene Malahoo Forte, is calling for the detailed findings of  the audit to be made public. As she believes the summary report is inadequate.
