The Mandeville-based Northern Caribbean University is Friday afternoon celebrating its third place finish in an international software design competition.

The competition known as the Imagine Cup is put on annually by Microsoft.

Reacting to the team's success NCU's Director of System Services Michael Reid lauded the team's performance.

The NCU team of Conroy Smith, Ayson Baxter, Damion Mitchell and Imran Allie had earlier won the regional finals.

The team, coached by Kenrie Hylton, competed with 55 teams from around the world.

The competition staged in South Korea was won by Thailand and Korea.
