Normality is returning to Nestle Jamaica Limited following a strike involving scores of production workers.
The 177 employees who took action last Thursday to protest against the dismissal of two of their colleagues resumed duties Monday morning beginning with the 6:00 am shift.
The matter was referred to the Industrial Disputes Tribunal, IDT, on Friday following the breakdown of talks between the National Workers Union, NWU, and the management of Nestle.
NWU Vice President, Howard Duncan, says a request has been made for the Tribunal to conduct an early hearing into the dispute.
"...based on the severity of the matter, we have asked the IDT for an early hearing and both parties basically accepted the union's request...and we are preparing our briefs," Duncan told the RJR News Centre.
