Justice Maureen Rajnauth-Lee was sworn in as a Judge of the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) at a ceremony at the Office of the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on Friday. She is the first woman from the twin island republic appointed to the CCJ bench.
Justice Rajnauth- Lee, who is a former Justice of Appeal in Trinidad and Tobago, was selected from among applicants from the Caribbean, North America and Eastern Europe.
Judges appointed to the CCJ are evaluated on wide-ranging criteria, including experience, sound judgment, integrity and an understanding of people and society.
