Another chapter in the history of  the Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF, will begin this afternoon when Carl Williams is sworn in as the 28th Commissioner of  Police. Mr. Williams will replace Owen Ellington who retired in July.

Mr. Williams, who holds a doctorate in Criminal Justice, comes to the job with vast experience. He previously served as Head of  the Kingston Central Division and  Commanding Officer for Area Five, which comprises several  communities which have proven a challenge in the JCF's crime fighting efforts.

Prior to his appointment he held the Crime portfolio and was head of MOCA and the Narcotics Division.
