No suspect identified in murder of Young Reggae Boyz team doctor

The Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) has not yet identified a suspect in connection with Wednesday's murder of Dr. Martin Garwood.

Superintendent Phipps told RJR News that investigators are analysing forensic evidence collected at the crime scene.

Dr. Garwood, who was the team doctor for Jamaica's Young Reggae Boyz, was found dead at his Barbican, St. Andrew residence. The body had stab wounds.

Superintendent Phipps said investigators found no evidence of forced entry to the house and are trying to determine whether he was attacked by someone known to him.

Dr. Garwood's vehicle, which was reportedly used as the get-away car for the perpetrators, was found in Queen Hill, St. Andrew on Thursday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Medical Association of Jamaica has condemned the killing of Dr. Garwood who was assigned to the Kingston Public Hospital.

In a statement on Thursday, it said Dr. Garwood was killed hours after he completed life saving surgery.
