The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) will start collecting electronic waste on Sunday - as part of a six-month pilot project.
Angels 1 and 2, Angels Grove and Hellshire, in St. Catherine, will have their E-Waste collected by a special NSWMA team, beginning at 7:00 a.m.
Electronic Waste to be collected include CPUs, mobile phones, printers, monitors, laptops, keyboards, mouse, chargers and cables.Residents are asked to ensure that the E-waste is separated from other household wastes.
The six-month pilot project will enable the NSWMA to generate an E-waste inventory database and develop regulations for importers of large quantities of electronic items.
