NSWMA gets $120 million to repair garbage trucks

NSWMA Executive Director Audley Gordon
The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) has been given an allocation of $120 million to repair its garbage trucks.
NSWMA Executive Director Audley Gordon told RJR News that the agency has teamed up with the National Works Agency (NWA) to repair the 30 trucks. The NWA will assist in terms of inspecting the vehicles and providing estimates for the repairs.
"We have to look at how best we can stretch the funds so the ones that are in need of real major repairs we might not be able to do all of them, but those with minor repairs we're gonna be definitely doing," Mr. Gordon outlined.
"We really want to get this done quickly, but we have to observe all the procurement guidelines," he added.
The repaired trucks will be dispatched across the island.
