NWA Communication Manager Stephen Shaw
The National Works Agency (NWA) has said work is underway to repair sections of Mandela Highway which were damaged following heavy rains.
This should see motorists getting some ease from the lengthy traffic delays which have plagued them since the start of the week.
NWA Communication Manager Stephen Shaw said, if all goes as planned, the work should be completed by the end of the day.
"We're continuing the work that we started yesterday along both the carriage ways. We're giving specific attention to the west bound carriage way where we have had serious challenges over the last few days and we are hoping that the weather will be kind to us and we'll be in a position to make those couple areas that has (sic) caused great anxiety among the travelling public in a more favourable state," he asserted.
Traffic snarls have become the daily routine as motorists maneouvre the affected sections of the major thoroughfare.
Repairs along the highway have been hampered by the inclement weather.
