NWA says promised bridge for Chesterfield, St. Mary to be in place this year

The National Works Agency (NWA) says the promised bridge for residents of Chesterfield, St. Mary is slated to be in place by the start of the next hurricane season.
The response follows complaints by residents of a failed promise made by the Prime Minister during the campaign for the St. Mary South Eastern by-election.
Stephen Shaw, Communication Manager at the NWA, said the bridge is one of seven being fabricated in China for delivery to the Agency by the end of next month.
A total of US$2 million is being spent to procure the bridges and associated parts.
