NWC workers finalising wage agreement with Finance Ministry

Unionised employees of the National Water Commission (NWC) have turned to the Ministry of Finance to complete wage negotiations for the 2015/2017 contract period.

The workers have complained about the slow pace of talks with the NWC's management.

The Jamaica Association of Local Government Officers (JALGO) says the employees are eager to wrap up negotiations.

"The ministry has given the go-ahead and they have already begun receiving the actual percentage incentive and salary. What we're really finalising is primary allowances right now," said Helene Davis Whyte, General Secretary of the Jamaica Association of Local Government Officers.
