A 17 year-old student of Ocho Rios High School in St. Ann was shot and killed while another man was injured after they attacked a security guard on Wednesday night.
The incident took place about 7:30 p.m. on the Parry Town main road in Ocho Rios.
It is reported that the security guard was walking to work when he was pounced on by three men with guns.
They opened fire in the direction of the guard. The guard returned fire, hitting the boy in his chest and groin.
He was pronounced dead at hospital.
The other man turned up later at hospital with bullet wounds.
He was admitted under police guard.
