Taxi operators in Old Harbour, St. Catherine on Wednessday withdrew their service as they protested what they claim has been unfair treatment by the police.

The drivers, who ply the Old Harbour to Spring Village route, say the police have been seizing their vehicles if they venture beyond the bus park.

They mounted roadblocks along the Church Pen main road early Wednesday morning, causing a major traffic pile up and inconveniencing hundreds of commuters.

The taxi drivers have asked the Transport Authority to clarify the terms of their road licences.
