One of two held in relation to St. Andrew teen's death, seeks release

Another application is to be made in the St. Andrew Parish Court next week seeking the release of one of two men detained in connection with the murder of 13 year-old Shanoya Wray.

Both men have been in custody since July 21.

The teenager's skeletal remains were found at a property on Whalley Close in St. Andrew on July 20.

Shanoya reportedly went missing from home five days earlier.

The man's attorney, Peter Champagnie, told RJR News Friday morning that he applied for his client's release under a writ of habeas corpus on Tuesday.

The matter will again be heard on Tuesday.

Mr. Champagnie said his client has been interviewed by the police.
