Opposition Leader Dr. Peter Phillips has commended frontline health workers as well as security personnel for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Phillips saluted the workers on Monday during a ceremony at the St. William Grant Park in downtown Kingston to celebrate Labour Day.

In his address, he saluted "all of Jamaica's workers" but singled out first responders, nurses, doctors, security force personnel, ambulance drivers as well as those who do tracing studies and testing, noting that all these workers "deserve our special tribute and recognition today."

Dr. Phillips was among several parliamentarians who participated in the cleaning and sanitising of streets and sidewalks surrounding St. William Grant Park, Mandela Park and Papine Park as part of Labour Day activities.
