Orange Tree residents marooned as foot bridge washed away

Residents in the comunity of Orange Tree, St. Thomas are marooned as the foot bridge leading into the community has been washed away.
The bridge was washed away by the Yallas River, after heavy rains caused the river to go into spate.
The bridge, constructed by the residents, is the only way in and out of the community.
The original bridge was washed away in 1988.
Calls have been made to Member of Parliament James Robertson to have a bridge constructed but the residents say their calls have been ignored.
