Health Minister Christopher Tufton has said the Cornwall Regional Hospital's Independent Oversight Committee is to present a comprehensive report this month on repairs to the 10 storey building.
The committee, which is headed by Professor Archibald McDonald, has been monitoring the project.
Two contractors have been carrying out work on the hospital's main building.
Some $400 million is being spent to replace pipes as well as electrical and ventilation systems to address noxious fumes being emitted.
A $100 million contract was signed for roof repairs.
Dr. Tufton said contracts will be signed for additional work.
He noted that precautions are being taken to ensure the restoration project does not interfere with the operations of the hospital, including staff and patients.
Some $3.5 billion has been budgeted for the project.
