PAAC holding in-camera hearing for Edna Manley sex assault victim

Parliament's Public Administration and Appropriations Committee is now holding an in-camera hearing with one of the alleged victims of sexual harassment at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts.
The student requested that she be allowed to speak publicly before the committee on the allegations against the lecturer.
It was agreed that an in-camera hearing would be more appropriate and the specific matter would not be discussed.
Amid public criticism about whether the hearing was within the PAAC's mandate, chairman Dr. Wykeham McNeill argued that it would not be about the allegations at the Edna Manley College but the problem of  sexual harassment.
The PAAC will resume the sitting following the hearing.
