Local Government Minister Desmond McKenzie says following amendments to legislation earlier this year, Parish Councils have been renamed. The councils are now referred to as Municipal Corporations, while Secretary Managers or Town Clerks have been renamed Chief Executive Officers.
Mr. McKenzie says a public education campaign is to be launched shortly about changes to the legislation governing Local Government.
"When the bills were passed, a lot of information was not given out and I intend over the next couple of weeks to sensitize the public on some of the changes that have been made," he asserted.
Mr. McKenzie said the changes are aimed at improving Local Governance.
