Deputy House Speaker Franklyn Witter suspends sitting of Parliament as fire alarm goes off on Tuesday.
Tuesday afternoon's sitting of the House of Representatives had to be briefly suspended after the fire alarm went off as members debated the new fisheries legislation.
Parliamentarians appeared confused about whether to evacuate the building when the shrill sound of the alarm was heard about 4:15.
Deputy House Speaker Franklyn Witter eventually suspended the proceedings.
However, the sitting resumed about 15 minutes later.
It is unclear what set off the alarm.
