Pastor charged for sexually assaulting 14 year old offered bail

Pastor Kenneth Blake of the Harvest Temple Apostolic Church, who is accused of sexually assaulting and impregnating a 14 year old girl, has been offered bail in the sum $1.5 million.

The 56 year old pastor was offered bail on Wednesday when he appeared before the St. Andrew Parish Court.

Mr. Blake was charged last week by CISOCA following allegations that he had been molesting the child since 2015 when she was 12 years old.

He has been charged with rape, sexual touching, having sexual intercourse with a minor, grievous sexual assault of a minor under the age of 16 and forcible abduction.

CISOCA said the child is now pregnant.

However, during Wednesday's bail hearing, his attorney, Abeldon Foote, said his client "categorically" denied the allegations.

He claimed his client was a victim of spite and malice and at no time molested the child.

Mr. Foote declared that Mr. Blake was prepared to give his DNA for testing. The clergyman then signed a consent document agreeing to this.

Mr. Foote disclosed that his client had a relationship with the child's mother.

The attorney said evidence will be presented at trial to show that a dispute between the mother and the pastor is the root cause of his court case.

Mr. Blake is to return on October 5.
