Persons under 25 committing most crimes in St. Mary, says senior cop

Deputy Superintendent of Police Dwight Powell has said most of the crimes in St. Mary are being committed by persons under the age of 25.
    
DSP Powell, speaking at a special function in St. Mary, stated that 158 crimes have been committed in the parish so far in 2016.  
    
They include break-ins, murders, robberies, larceny, rapes and aggravated assaults.  
He said since the start of the year, 29 murders have been committed, compared to 26 last year for the same period.
     
DSP Powell said gun violence is on the increase as 16 of the murders were gun related.
