Several questions are emerging in relation to the settlement package which was reportedly negotiated for Petrojam's controversial Human Resources Manager, Yolande Ramharrack, who suddenly resigned last Friday.
General Secretary of the opposition People's National Party (PNP), Julian Robinson, told RJR News that the management of Petrojam has a responsibility to provide details.
He says this is necessary in the wake of developments ahead of her resignation.
“We understand that there were a number of disciplinary charges that were laid against Ms. Ramaharrak . We don’t know what the status of those are, we also understand that a settlement was reached with her . I think it is incumbent on the management and the board of Petrojam to indicate to the public the circumstances of her departure.”
Mr. Robinson also highlighted other issues which need further explanation by Petrojam.
“The circumstances surrounding her hiring were very controversial, in terms of her qualifications, the nature of her salary moving at a significant amount during the first two months and her entire tenure. To close the issue, we need full information on the circumstances surrounding her departure,” he said.
Ramharrack's compensation scheme caused controversy earlier this year, when Parliament's Public Administration and Appropriations Committee raised questions about how her compensation package increased by about $2 million to $13 million within the first two months of her joining Petrojam.
